MARLBORO, MA-Lucent Technologies, which recently decided to lay off 1,000 employees in Massachusetts, may move out of its 500,000-sf campus here, according to unconfirmed reports. The company also owns the development rights to another 500,000 sf here and that site might be put up for sale as well.

While the company declines to comment on specific sites, which are located along Route 495, it does acknowledge to GlobeSt.com that it is considering its options regarding its real estate. “At this time we have nothing to announce as far as any plans for specific facilities in Massachusetts,” Frank Briamanti, a spokesperson for Lucent, tells GlobeSt.com. “We did announce that we are looking at consolidation efforts across the board in the company in all different locations.”
