Primera Partners is being jumpstarted by a leasing and property management contract with well-known developer Darren Casey. He is the founder of Darren Casey Interests Inc. and Baxter Southwest Corporate Realty Services. Casey is partnering with Chuck Brown, Trammell Crow's former managing director in San Antonio. The office also includes Bart Wilson, Kyle Gunter, Jerry Steuart and Glenn Snape, all of Trammell Crow's San Antonio office. Scott Haushill has come over from Hixon Properties to join the team as CFO while Walt Busby, Primera's COO, had been with Orion Partners.

Primera Partners will be managing and leasing about 520,000 sf of office and industrial space for Darren Casey Interests. The portfolio also includes a 63,000-sf medical office building in the South Texas Medical Center. Primera also will be focusing on acquisitions of office and industrial holdings.

Casey is the developer of the 140,000-sf Parkway Plaza in the city's north central submarket and Cinema Plaza, a former theater that has been converted into offices. Wilson tells GlobeSt.com that the new firm represents the most logical next step for Casey, who will be kicking off a 40,000-sf third phase to Parkway Plaza within 30 days. Casey had been using third-party agents to handle leasing and management duties of his holdings.
