Flood Waters Challenge $160-Mil Project

ST. PAUL, MN-Dallas-based Centex expected to unveil its strategy to handle a 500-year flood this week. Construction of 580 housing units and 23,000 sf commercial space is on hold after the Mississippi River crested at 23 feet.

Centex, the Dallas-based developer, is expected to unveil plans this week that will be able to handle a 500-year flood. The measures include a levee and raising the elevation of the ground. The project includes from 580 to 600 units of housing and 23,000 sf of commercial space. Once site work is done, construction could begin next year.
