Details about the Austin location and staff size were not available from company contacts by press time. In concert with the Austin opening, InPhonic, a solutions provider for the wireless industry, has launched a New York City satellite operation. InPhonic also has offices in Largo, MD and Atlanta, maintaining a 150-employee workforce companywide.
Austin's high-tech mecca is a logical next step for the firm, which is growing its operation by 20% a month for the past five months. And, there will "continued significant growth for months to come," says David Steinberg, InPhonic's founder and CEO.
InPhonic provides wireless enterprise and e-business solutions to major corporations, affinity groups and Internet-based companies. An all-star lineup sits on InPhonic's board of directors. John Sculley had been the former CEO of Apple Computer and PepsiCo; Tom Davidson Sr., formerly with Davidson Capital Group; Robert Adelson, partner in RAF NetVentures; and Tom Smith, director of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Fund.
