The contribution will come through the Centre City Development Corp., the redevelopment agency's development arm. Mayor Dick Murphy earlier this year called for a more conservative approach toward providing public financing for the $450 million project. The city's share of the project is $225 million.

Murphy's proposal calls for a $30 million initial cash infusion, $21 million from the Port District and less long-term debt to city taxpayers.
