According to Gary Steinfield, AvalonBay vice president, the developer expects to draw tenants in this housing-starved market from an area ranging from metro New York City down to the northern fringes of the Greater Philadelphia market. The region is also near a number of popular Jersey Shore resort communities. Avalon at Freehold offers a variety of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans.
Nationally, AvalonBay owns or holds interests in nearly 140 apartment communities with a total unit count of almost 41,000. The properties are spread over a dozen states and District of Columbia. Of the total, 12 of the projects are currently under construction and another four are being redeveloped.
