While the Northern New Jersey office market is considered "flat," the activity generated by G&W's properties shows that the business community here is anything but shy about committing to new space. "The continued leasing we are experiencing is a reflection of the commitment," according to Bob Martie, SVP of leasing and marketing for G&W.

Among the recent deals, State Farm Insurance signed on for just over 40,000 sf at 4 Becker Farm Rd. The space will be used as a claims center. Bob McCafferty of rhe Garibaldi Group, Chatham, represented the tenant.

Also, ADP has added more than 40,300 sf at 4 Becker Farm Rd., bringing its total commitment to 128,872 sf at the class-A, 281,000-sf building. The space is used for general office purposes and is located not far from ADP's world headquarters, also in Roseland.

Among the other recent transactions, the law firm of Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, re-upped for its 32,557 sf at 75 Livingston Ave. Paul Steinbock of Steinbock Associates represented the firm. Also, SBC Telecom has signed a 24,161-sf lease at 4 Becker Farm Rd., where it will open one of its first offices in New Jersey. Jodi Matthews and Dennis McConnell of Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey negotiated for SBC.

In addition, American Management Systems has expanded and renewed its lease by 10,737 sf to a total of just over 41,000 sf at 75 Livingston Ave.; Dave Warren of Resource Realty dealt for AMS. The law firm of Stein & Greenberg, repped by Steinbock, extended its 9,809-sf lease at 75 Livingston Ave. And the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler expanded its facilities to a total of 59,037 sf at 6 Becker Farm Rd. Joe Steinberg of Lowenstein Sandler acted on behalf of his firm.
