"In selecting a broadband provider, it was important for us to find a company with a history of success and proven expertise in the market," says Jack Naliboff, president of StepStone Real Estate. "We pride ourselves on delivering cost-effective, innovative services to our customer-tenants and on being ahead of the technology curve."

Eric Johnson, president of IntelliSpace-West, says the agreement strengthens the company's presence in the fast-growing San Diego metropolitan area. "With a high concentration of information-driven companies such as law firms and insurance companies, StepStone's tenants are ideal businesses to take advantage of IntelliSpace's better breed of broadband services," Johnson says.

StepStone is a real estate services firm that develops owns and manages commercial real estate. IntelliSpace began its battle to be a major wiring player in February 2000 when it received a $35 million investment from Chase Capital Partners and Weston Presidio Capital. The company had already wired several prominent New York buildings--including the Javits Center, Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall--but the funding allowed the company to roll out its service nationally. It has since raised another $35 million.
