Hughes Supply Hooks Up with AvidXchange

ORLANDO-The 73-year-old, publicly traded wholesale distributor will offer a $485 million inventory comprising 240,000 construction products from 5,500 manufacturers to clients of the Charlotte-based software provider. The value and length of the contract wasn't disclosed.

Commercial property owners and facility managers "will be able to leverage the efficiencies of the AvidXchange e-procurement platform" with Hughes' inventory to buy materials at lower prices, AvidXchange CEO Mike Praeger says in a prepared statement.

AvidXchange clients will be able to start ordering Hughes products by June. Hughes is a New York Stock Exchange-traded firm regarded in the construction industry as one of the country's largest diversified wholesale distributors.
