A partnership led by Larken Associates, based in Hillsborough, NJ is turning the building in this city's Paulus Hook section on the Morris Canal into a high-tech residential property. As with almost everything else in the residential category being built in Jersey City these days, the lofts, some with 10-foot ceilings, will be decidedly pricey. The 65 units, ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 sf, begin at just under $450,000 and top out at about $1.5 million.
Besides the usual amenities expected for luxury residential units, the ones at Sugar House at Liberty Cove, as the project is being called, will include high-speed Internet access, plus pre-wiring for satellite TV and computer terminals. Despite all of the tech-related amenities, the developers intend to retain the original brick walls and wooden beams.
