"From the point of their business plan, it's significant," Royce Lacey, vice president for NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties in Austin, tells GlobeSt.com. The firm, which supplies precision sheet metal parts, will be occupying 20,798 sf in the 100,000-sf Thermo MeasureTech Building located at 2555 N. Interstate 35. Thermo MeasureTech is subleasing the spot to Quickturn, taking the building to full occupancy.

A local partnership owns the stand-alone structure that had been built in 1990 for Thermo MeasureTech. Lacey has had a long-standing relationship with tenant and building owner and thus acted as intermediary for both parties in negotiating the lease and four-year extension. Quickturn has been a tenant in the structure since 1997. The lease enables Quickturn to bring its precision parts painting in house instead of outsourcing the process, says Lacey.
