"The acquisition of this property brings our development efforts full circle," according to Perth Amboy Mayor Joseph Vas. "It also allows us to move ahead with our plans to reclaim this abandoned and underutilized industrial area."
As part of the complicated maneuvering over the site, 16 acres of it will apparently be turned over to Riverview Center Realty. The latter had been designated earlier as the developer of choice to turn a total of nearly 90 acres of land in the city into an $85 million mixed use project. The new acreage would apparently be attached to the larger site, although full details of the transfer have not been disclosed.
