Elizabeth Trocchio has been named as the replacement for J. Reagan Dixon, who vacated the C&W Dallas helm nearly three months ago. "Reagan left some pretty big shoes to fill," she says. But the job brings challenge and an opportunity to return "home." For the past 18 months, Trocchio has been C&W's branch manager in Houston. Prior to that, she had been the president and COO of Ft. Worth's Woodmont Property Management, a division of the restructured Woodmont Co.

Retail has not been a major force in the C&W hierarchy, but that has changed on the Manhattan corporate level and will be changing in Texas as well. The retail play couldn't have come at a better time at least in Texas, where it's a sure-fire winner in literally every metropolis.

Trocchio says decisions on the office's retail rollout should be forthcoming by summer's end. "We will be looking at people and companies," she tells GlobeSt.com about the beef up that is waiting in the wings. Until now, she says retail services have been provided on a "touch and go" basis by a couple of brokers.

Trocchio also is planning ways to unite C&W's 40-broker Dallas team and its 25-broker Houston staff. Everything from joint networking functions to golf outings are in the works to develop a stronger relationship between the two offices. And by year's end, there might be a third team in place. "We have been talking about Austin," she admits. "We will take a look at an Austin office at the end of the year."

Trocchio says she intends to recruit in the same way that Dixon did for the C&W team, pursuing "the best of the best." Recruiting and drumming up business are high on her agenda. Her staff is primarily senior people, she says, who "don't need a manager. My role is somewhat of a rainmaker." The Dallas office is ranked third in the C&W hierarchy, outdistanced by Midtown Manhattan and East Rutherford, NJ.

Beginning next week, Trocchio will be spending at least one day a week in Dallas. She hopes to be relocated by July 1 or at the latest, Aug. 1.

Trocchio's Houston replacement will be named in the near future, according to a company statement. Rumor has it that it could be Cushman Realty's Tim Relyea, a move that would follow the final inking of the firm's merger with C&W.
