Coke officials will not confirm or deny the planned land purchase or discuss near-future expansion plans at the park which is near its 35-acre North Avenue headquarters complex. The company also owns 20 acres near Centennial Olympic Park.

Coke is buying the land from Centennial Olympic Park Authority Inc., Antioch Urban Ministries and the Atlanta Development Authority. The partnership owns Northyards Business Park which was originally conceived by the Downtown Atlanta Revitalization Inc.

Coke, coincidentally, partially financed the non-profit group's November 1998 purchase of 27.7 acres from the Charles L. Merriman investor consortium for $7.5 million or $270,758 per acre ($6.22 per sf), according to Fulton County real estate records.
