The Meadows Corporate Center was formerly known as the Gould Center, as it was the corporate headquarters for Chicago-based developer Gould Corp. The current tenant roster includes United Airlines Inc., Navistar International, Kraft Foods Inc. and Sony Music.
However, the building lost four tenants recently, explains leasing broker Irv Gilner. Bridgestone/Firestone vacated 50,000 sf over two full floors for a facility the company built for itself. Dealer Resource Group also relocated from 25,000 sf, as did Ameritech, leaving 21,000 for its own headquarters. Nissei Sangyo America left 18,000 sf for Woodfield Preserve I in neighboring Schaumburg.
Gilner says the vacancies come as a result of expected rollover after the complex was nearly fully-occupied the last few years. He expects all the vacant space to be leased up by the end of next year.
"We've had good interest and we've done a lot of tours. There's a lot of space out there, but we'll market the buildings aggressively," Gilner tells GlobeSt.com.
"In addition to the many amenities in the area, these two towers offer a significant list of conveniences, including a full-service athletic facility, a 200-seat auditorium, tennis courts, swimming pools, food service and a travel agency," says Tamara Kos, director in the office services group in the company's Downtown office.
Cushman & Wakefield won the leasing assignment from San Francisco-based asset manager Tower Realty Management Corp. "Until now, Meadows Corporate Center has not had any significant vacancy opportunities, but with approximately 125,000 square feet currently available, I believe Cushman & Wakefield is the best qualified at conveying these opportunities to prospective tenants," says Tower Realty regional general manager Joe Gordon.
