Besides an 1800s mansion, the property also includes Victorian gardens. The non-profit Dole Mansion Preservation Society had been attempting to restore the mansion.
The offer is contingent on a 60-day due-diligence period and suitability of the site for plans the company will discuss with the church and city officials. The church will continue to have offices at Lakeside Center for two years.
"Many of the current activities will continue without interruption," says Lakeshore Medical Fitness vice president Ed Buda, who lives in this suburb. "We would like to make improvements to the facilities and the grounds and work with the various community groups and with the city to restore the historic Dole Mansion…The Lakeside Center is a wonderful location for cultural activities, corporate retreats, educational seminars, weddings, and community functions."
