Dallas-based Granite Properties has copped the award for the Compaq Building, 13430 NW Freeway in Houston; Granite Plaza at Las Colinas, 7301 N. State Highway 161 in Irving; Granite Tower, 4055 Valley View Lane in Dallas; and Granite Park I, 5800 Granite Parkway in Plano.
CEL & Associates Inc., based in Los Angeles, had conducted a tenant survey of 6,000 buildings nationwide on behalf of BOMA International to determine the winners. Only 230 commercial properties had met the award criteria. This is the first time that Granite Properties has entered the competition in its 10-year history, GlobeSt.com has been told.John Anderson, Granite's operations director, says the honor is "particularly meaningful because we are being measured by our tenants and compared to other commercial properties throughout the nation." Granite owns, manages and leases more than five million sf of office, industrial and retail properties in five states in the South Central US.
