Sysco is eyeing a third quarter 2002 opening, launching the center with about 400 employees. Sysco expects to have 600 employees on board by 2005. "The location of the new company will allow us to better service customers in the area and also provide the opportunity to expand our customer base by presenting Sysco's products and services to additional foodservice operators in the region," says David B. Devane, Sysco's president and CEO-elect. The center is multi-temperature and will serve southern Nevada, southern Utah and northern Arizona.
Salt Lake City-based, Big D Construction is the design-build contractor for the project. Michael G. DeLew and Todd Long of Colliers International in Las Vegas in the land buy.
