More than 200 professional journalists from across the US competed in 15 different categories for this year's honors. The winners were selected by a panel of judges from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. On the panel were Professor Patrick S. Washburn and doctoral candidates Jan Knight and Lee Wood. All are former news reporters and editors.
