Plans call for the new CyberCity to be located in the soon-to-be-built $300 million Town Center at the Owings Mills Metro Station. The technology center would include tech training, serve as an incubator for new tech companies, and offer space for product demonstrations and conference rooms for technology vendors. It is also proposed to offer classrooms for college technology courses, a virtual gaming area and virtual cafes and theme restaurants.
"Our plan calls for CyberCity@Owings Mills to be the best of breed--blending public access, education and entertainment, with technology research and development," says Zirkin.
Townson University plans to partner in the plans to develop the CyberCity. "It will position both Owings Mills and the state of Maryland as forerunners in technology training and development," says Towson association provost Deborah Leather.
