The store marks Trader Joe's fifth outlet in Virginia and its 45th on the East coast. "We think Reston will be a great market, so we decided to build one of our largest stores there," says Brandt Sharrock, director of real estate for Trader Joe's East. The grocery offers over 800 unique private-label grocery items at "value" prices.
Thomas A. Williamson, general manager of Terrabrook's Reston operation, agrees. "Trader Joe's is a niche grocer with a large and loyal following, and we think it will be a wonderful addition to the Town Center District and surrounding areas," says Williamson.
Reston Town Center is an upscale, mixed-use community featuring a variety of shops, offices and luxury residences. Terrabrook develops commercial and residential properties and is the largest developer of planned communities in the country, with more than 45 communities in 13 states and Puerto Rico.
