The Wyndham Metairie features a 7,000-sf ballroom and 2,000 sf of meeting space, including a business center and rooms outfitted for today's traveling businessman. The 189 rooms boast oversize work desks, two-line cordless telephones and high-speed Internet access.
Wyndham also owns and operates the 438-room Wyndham New Orleans at Canal Place, 202-room Wyndham Riverfront, 216-room Bourbon Orleans and 93-room Whitney.
In other Wyndham news, Donna DeBerry has been named senior vice president of diversity and assistant to the chairman. The appointment, say Wyndham officials, is part of the hotelier's commitment to implement a company-wide program to ensure a diverse workforce and create economic opportunities for minorities and women--a 2001 business objective for Dallas-based Wyndham.
DeBerry, previously Wyndham's vice president of diversity and national sales director, will be tasked with strategic development and implementation of a diversity program. Wyndham has set up three committees to support the initiative.
