The complex, located at 625 North Road (Route 117) in Groton, is set on a footprint of 2.5 acres and adjacent to the 14 acre Mystic Executive Park, which will be the site of a four story, 104,000 sf office building. In addition to Governor Rowland, Bill Munck, vice president, New England market for Marriott International and Teresa McKee, senior vice president of operations for Elizabeth Arden Salon Holdings Inc., officiated at the grand opening ceremony.

The Mystic Marriott boasts a 10,000 sf, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. The spa is the third resort facility for Elizabeth Arden and its first in the state of Connecticut. The Elizabeth Arden Red Door at the Mystic Marriott features "relaxation and serenity rooms" a spa cafe, a juice and elixir bar, fitness center and retail boutique.

The complex also features two ballrooms and nine conference rooms totaling 25,000 sf of space and the area's first Starbucks Coffee bar. The property employs approximately 250 workers.
