The housing would be market rate, not subsidized, as are most of the units in the area.

The company has to get a zoning variance from the Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals for the single-family homes. City planning staff thought the project provided a desirable environment that would not be out of harmony with the general surroundings.

The Hubbard-Richard Citizens' District Council has already voted in favor of the project.
