This year's conference is "Fad or Fact: Forecasting for the Future." Featured panelists include Ken Ackbarali of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp. Barry Sedlick, Southern California Edison's manager of business development, will talk about the energy crisis and its possible solutions.

Greg Karns, a partner at the law firm of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, will moderate a diverse panel of real estate and finance professionals. The conference is expected to draw more than 300 attendees.

Among those scheduled to take part in various panels throughout the day are Wayne Woodman, Tower Asset Management; Stephen Liu, Reelplay; Mike Dunn, Charles Dunn Real Estate Services Inc.; Neil Resnick, Grubb & Ellis; and Phillip Shuster, Pacific Property Co.

They will be joined by William Kamer, Douglas Emmett & Co.; Eddy Chao, Asia Pacific Capital; Deborah Beveridge, East West Bank; Lydia Shen, Mass Mutual; Alex Xu, American Pacific Homes; Chuck Moore of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP; and Lloyd Kendall, North American Title.

The event begins at 2:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. It is co-sponsored by Real Estate Southern California, the LA-based print sister of GlobeSt.com.
