The 65-acre, $125 million project includes a 180,000-sf casino slated for completion late next year. The casino will include 2,000 slot machines, two bars, 30 gaming tables and six restaurants, along with a200-room hotel.
Rincon hopes to rise above a history of failed casino ventures as a result of its partnership with one of the nation's top gaming and resort companies. It opened a temporary casino in January in the North Countyarea.
Several people, both inside and outside the tribe, were convicted of felonies following a previous foray into gaming in the mid-1990s.
