Art School Expands at United Nations Plaza

SAN FRANCISCO-Art Institute International will now occupy the fifth and sixth floors at 1170 Market St., as well as the ground, second, third and seventh floors it already leases.

This expansion will provide more classroom space, computer labs and equipment for its student population, which has doubled in the past two years, according to Dan Soine of the Art Institute.

Soine tells GlobeSt.com that the school expects the expansion to be complete by the start of the fall quarter. The school's lease rate was not immediately available. Rates in the area average about $32 per sf, annually.
