Tenant improvements worth $400,000, including addition of 10 exterior dock doors and moving utilities, are being done as DSC combines operations of two customers and expands its space here to 917,000 sf.
DSC Logistics is considered one of CenterPoint's "great customers," as the company has committed to building a 1-million-sf facility next year on a 57-acre site it bought at CenterPoint Intermodal Center, commonly known as the former Joliet Arsenal.
"The strength behind CenterPoint's business is our ability to solve the problems of our tenants," says CenterPoint senior vice president of investments Sean Maher. "In the current business environment, that often means accommodating changing space requirements. DSC has been a great customer for many years and we do our best to provide them with every possible option to meet their needs."
"As a logistics company, we have to ensure that our distribution operation provides our customers with the best value," says DSC director of real estate and physical assets for Greg Elliott. "Sometimes that means allowing customers to move to another building when it makes sense. CenterPoint's ability to accommodate our changing space requirements has led us to an extensive working relationship, and some unique solutions."
