The summit will focus on a strategic planning process to identify critical needs and opportunities for our communities and finding the resourcesnecessary to achieve success, according to event organizers. It is about partnership and collaboration between all the agencies and individuals thathave the capacity to make a positive impact on the region.
The honorary chairman is Congressman John Dingell. The conference is a partnership with these community organizations:
* Southeast Michigan Community Alliance.
* Downriver Community Conference.
* Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.
* Southeast Michigan Council of Governments.
The projects and initiatives will be carried out by other local and state agencies, but the ongoing Downriver Summit strategic planning process willensure that objectives are being met and resources are well directed.
