The plan is to build a regional wholesale facility to market and distribute landscaping products. John Deere Landscapes offers a wholesale nursery with trees and shrubs, landscaping supplies and an extensive range of irrigation products.
The buyer has operations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. John Deere Landscapes was formerly McGinnis Farms Inc. until the subsidiary of Deere and Co. was renamed in April.
Marc Drumwright of Houston-based Southwest Realty Advisors represented John Deere in the land sale. Dave Anderson of Anderson Properties acted on behalf of the seller, C. Strange, F. Strange, et al. Southwest Realty Advisors specializes in industrial build-to-suit facilities for sale or lease.
