Gary White, formerly a vice president and 12-year veteran of the Dallas-based Fred Arnold Co., tells GlobeSt.com that he brings the Haggar Clothing Co. account with him to the job. White has represented the Dallas-based clothier in selecting 70 outlet centers nationwide for its stores. He also is working with a franchisee of The Mattress Firm, headquartered in Little Rock, AR and has found some 200 locations for the retailer through the years.
White envisions signing up as many as three significant retailers in the coming year. Then, his goal is to step up the action to as many as five in a strategy that hopefully will snowball. It will take a couple years to build, he says.
"The national implication means from my perspective representing retailers with their expansion requirements and whatever their real estate needs might be," White says of the rollout. For now, he is soloing the strategy, but expects that brokers will be needed as the strategy unfolds.
White says the game plan simply is to court local and national retailers looking to expand. He will be spending his days cold calling and knocking on doors to market the new undertaking for the veteran Dallas brokerage firm.
