Tower Automotive of Grand Rapids, MI plans to break ground in October on a $9 million, 170,000-sf, build-to-suit factory two miles from the Nissan site. Occupancy is tentatively scheduled for September 2002.
EastGroup Properties Inc. of Jackson, MS will develop the project on a 50-acre site at an estimated hard construction cost of $53 per sf. The site allows the building to be expanded in the future to a total 430,000 sf
Tower produces a broad range of assemblies and modules for vehicle structures and suspension systems.
The EastGroup development team comprises Mark S. Bounds Realty Partners, EastGroup's strategic alliance partners for Nissan-related developments; and White Construction Co., the project's general contractor.
