Prince Plastics is a producer of high-density plastic bags for the grocery and retail industries, with annual revenues of more than $4.5 million. Firozali Roopani, Prince Plastics founder, says there are several reasons for moving his operation from 6319 Brookhill Dr. in Houston to Sugar Land's Julie Rivers Drive. The acreage is situated in a newly developed area, with a high percentage of business security, explains Roopani, going on to cite strong demographics and freeway access. And most important, Ft. Bend County is providing tax incentives for the building project, he says.

Roopani's property is located in Sugar Land Business Park, owned by Sugarland Properties Inc. Dinesh Shah with Business Diversified represented Prince Plastics in the land transaction and Don Janssen negotiated the sale for Sugarland Properties.

Sugar Land Mayor Dean A. Hrbacek says Prince Plastics will be a good addition to the diversified business park. "We remain committed to maintaining a positive business environment that attracts high-quality projects such as Prince Plastics to our city," he says.

Ft. Bend County is one of the fastest growing in the state. In the past 15 years, the county has added 14,700 new jobs and beefed up tax valuations by $1.3 billion. More than 100 companies have relocated or expanded as a result of the county's economic development efforts.
