The Randalls store is in the fast-growing Scofield Farms area, which has been the site of furious single-family and multifamily construction. The store includes a Wells Fargo Bank branch, a convenience store and gas pumps.
Randalls, a subsidiary of Boise, ID-based Albertsons, has more stores on the way. Later this year, it will open a new store in near Lakeline Mall in Cedar Park. Next year, the grocer plans stores for Southwest Austin and Pflugerville.
The Home Depot store opens its Howard Lane and Interstate 35 location just a month after cutting the ribbon on one in Bee Cave, a suburb west of Austin and S. Interstate 35.
