The logistics provider's building is a 430,000 sf, single-story, tilt-wall warehouse with 52 dock bays, rail siding and 9,000 sf of office space. The location will serve as Saddle Creek's regional distribution center. Alliance Architects of Ft. Worth designed the building, which delivers in February 2002.

Saddle Creek provides distribution solutions for contract and public warehousing, along with specialty packaging, bar coding, inventory management and logistics outsourcing. Founded in 1966, the privately held company is based in Lakeland, FL and owns more than four million sf of warehouse space in six locations.

Saddle Creek's new distribution site is coming out of the ground in the 600-acre Railhead Industrial Park, which has been under development since 1996. Its biggest boost came about two years ago with the signing of Mattel Corp., which is now up and running in a one million-sf structure. The deal took Mattel's Southwest Distribution Center from CentrePort to Railhead, where doors opened earlier this year.
