The shopping center will be updated to include popular retail stores, a new state-of-the-art entertainment complex and a variety of restaurants.
The center's existing anchor tenants, Sears, J.C Penney and Target will remain open throughout the redevelopment project and will be part of the new center, which may open in 2003. New tenant leasing is being negotiated by Bill Kennery of the Kenney Company.
The Shops at Tanforan will serve more than 900,000 residents living within a 10-mile radius of the center and will play a major part in other redevelopment projects in the region. The center is located along El Camino Real at I-380 and Sneath Lane.
