WSNet sends programming to clients through a digital satellite platform. The company says it has 750,000 subscribers in apartments, nursing homes, college dormitories and small and rural cable companies in the United States.

"The additional capital demonstrates our investor's continued belief in the WSNet business plan and allows us too further reinforce our position in this specialized cable market," Stuart Lefkowitz, the company's chief operating officer, said in a prepared statement.

WSNet received $52 million in funding in early 2000 from a New York-based firm, which it has not identified, and Motorola Corp.
