The new lease is with Sport Chalet, one of the largest sporting goods chains based in Southern California. The 10-year pact will allow the company to move into the building at 2250 S. Sequoia Ave. at the end of this year, after tenant-improvements are completed.
Sport Chalet, which started with just a single store in La Canada in 1959, now operates 26 outlets across the Southland. About 125 people will work at its new Ontario distribution center.
Kent Stalwick of Insignia/ESG's Diamond Bar office represented Sport Chalet in the negotiations. Chuck Belden and the in-house staff at IDS represented privately held Haven Gateway LLC, the project's owner.
