The existing 152 units will be upgraded and reconfigured into125 studio, one-bedroom and one-bedroom-garden apartments, according to Bethel officials.

"The interior and exterior renovations have been exquisitelydesigned to provide a pleasant ambiance and quality setting for ourresidents," says Clare Shanley, the administrator for theSpringvale Inn. "The plan calls for 125 studio and one-bedroomapartments including 24 garden units with patios and balconies. Weexpect these to be especially desirable since they afford the mostactive individuals greater independence. Our spacious apartmentlayouts offer kitchen and kitchenette alternatives. Residents mayalso choose from a variety of other options and amenities."

Jack Ritchie, vice president, housing and development of Bethel, adds, "We've recognized the need for a major improvement of the Innand now, after careful planning and thanks to a comprehensivefinancing package, we are able to do it. Although this is, indeed,a major renovation, I want our residents to know that despite ournew look, we are not going to lose the involved level of serviceand affordable pricing for which the Inn is known."
