Buttarazzi, who joins Grubb & Ellis as senior managing director of the public/private advisory group, was in charge of promoting economic development in New York state, ranging from working to retain companies as well as luring foreign corporations.
"In these uncertain times, governments are thinking of ways to maximize value from under-performing assets by partnering with the private sector," says Buttarazzi, explaining his new role. "Similarly, businesses are looking to hedge their expansion plans by teaming up with economic development agencies."
Buttarazzi's resume also includes stints as banking and trade analyst for Washington-based law firm Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge and economic policy analyst for Washington think tank Heritage Foundation.
