Thomas J. Wiegand, former vice president and partner at Dallas-based EFO Realty Inc., is on board at Champion to lead the firm's real estate investment activities. He specifically is charged with management of Champion Equities Fund I LP, a diversified real estate investment fund. Jeff Swope, Champion's managing partner, says Wiegand's "diversified experience across product types and investment formats will complement our depth of resources in our real estate investing activities."
Wiegand was in the EFO leadership post for four years. He was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and managing two private equity investment funds. He also spent nine years at Houston-based Hines Interests, playing a key role in development, acquisition and asset management of more than $400 million of commercial properties. The privately owned Champion Partners Ltd. specializes in structuring complex real estate investment and development transactions within the property, land and capital marketplaces.
