The 50-suite Lodge at Ventana Canyon boasts two championship Tom Fazio-designed courses. The resort is bordered by the Coronado National Forest, which includes a 600-acre nature preserve. The resort also offers tennis, hot-air ballooning, desert Jeep tours and biking.

The Boulders is situated on 1,300 acres in the Sonoran Desert, just north of Scottsdale. Last month, Wyndham opened a 33,000-sf Golden Door Spa, offering the same amenities as one at the hotelier's Anatole in Dallas. The Boulders features dual Jay Morrish-designed championship golf courses as well as rock climbing and the same guest amenities as the Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
