The money will be used to purchase a parking lot and raw land inside the Wilmington Industrial Park. The aging facility is in one of LA County's poorest neighborhoods.
The deal will provide uniform-maker American Soccer Co. with 5.8 acres to expand its existing operations. It also will provide 3.4 acres for Union Ice. Co. to relocate a cold-storage facility to the area.
Construction of the new buildings is expected to begin shortly after escrow closes.
