Dallas-based Wingstop serves chicken wings in restaurants decorated with an aviation theme. Founded in 1998, the chain has about 48 restaurants open or under construction in 13 states.
Charles Loflin, who has the two current San Antonio restaurants, will open his third in the Oak Hills Shopping Center at 7959 Fredericksburg Rd. in the northwest submarket. He plans to open his fourth Wingstop in 2002's second quarter. Loflin's operates the chain's two highest grossing franchised stores, according to Wingstop. Lela Nauls opens the other new Wingstop at 8425 Bandera Rd. in the northwest submarket.
Wingstop looks to open one store per week throughout 2002 and into 2003. The company's long-term goal is to have stores in all states.
