The project's preliminary approval is expected, assuming the developers, whose spokesperson is Jeff Bacharach, prove they can build earthquake-resistant housing on the riverfront property -- given that it's a fill site -- and that the development won't harm the shoreline or the river's endangered fish.
The soonest plans are expected to be submitted for approval is next summer. A decision from hearings officer Gregory Frank is expected sometime after the first of the year.
