The company plans to relocate from its current offices at 400 Airport Executive Park in Nanuet to property in Orangeburg by Jan. 2003, according to company officials. Olympus Industrial America, a wholly owned subsidiary of KeyMed Group, part of the Olympus Optical Company of Japan, plans to build a new 65,000 sf headquarters building at the corner of Corporate Drive and Blaisdell Road.

"As part of the worldwide restructure announced by Olympus in April 2001, KeyMed became responsible for the U.S. industrial business which offers significant growth potential," says Mike Batty, head of facilities for the KeyMed Group, who is responsible for the design and construction of the new facility in Orangeburg. "With our strong customer oriented focus which includes seminars, training and VIP visitors, it is essential to acquire a facility that fully reflects our commitment to the industrial business. Without a facility available to meet our exacting specifications, we acquired the site in Orangeburg to design and build a superb corporate headquarters."

Officials with the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency say that Olympus Industrial America is building its new headquarters property under a direct lease agreement with the Rockland IDA. The company has already created 45 jobs since April in relation to its expansion in Rockland County and plans to add another 15 positions in 2002.
