The annual donation got under way nearly 20 years ago with J.W. Bateson, the predecessor company for Centex Construction. The contractor holds an annual benefit golf tournament, attracting sponsors from the ranks of Dallas-Ft. Worth divisions of the top names in the industry.
In 2000, the auxiliary used $300,000 to construct a new trauma intensive care unit in the hospital, which has a long-standing relationship with the Dallas-based construction company. The auxiliary's 33rd Six Flags Family Night is set for April 5, 2002.
