Barnes & Noble Readies for 10th Houston-Area Store

BEAUMONT, TX-The popular book retailer finalizes a long-term lease for Parkdale Mall in Beaumont, northeast of Houston. Build-out kicks off in mid-September 2002 on a superstore model that will open its doors in late October 2002.

Alan Kahn, Barnes & Noble's COO, says the superstore "will reflect the local lifestyles and interests of Beaumont customers." Beaumont is located northeast of Houston.

Barnes & Noble has nine stores in Houston and the surrounding area and three Bookstops, also owned by Barnes & Noble. Nationwide, the New York City-based company operates 582 Barnes & Noble stores and 328 B. Dalton bookstores.
