The board will be responsible for overseeing the transfer of Lindbergh Field from the Port of San Diego to the newly created San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.
The five members of the transition team include San Diego City Councilman Byron Wear, Oceanside Mayor Terry Johnson, La Mesa Mayor Art Madrid, Chula Vista Mayor Shirley Horton and attorney Paul Peterson.
Thella Bowens, who currently runs Lindbergh for the Port of San Diego, will serve as executive director of the interim organization. She chose the five board members.
A bill signed by Gov. Gray Davis in October creates an organization with the primary goal of increasing the county's limited air capacity.
