Carter Shillig and Rick Cullers are on board as senior vice presidents of office/industrial investments. "They talked to four or five other companies and they chose us," Sam Kartalis, Henry S. Miller's president and COO, tells GlobeSt.com.
Shillig and Cullers have been working the market for a good three decades as they built their reputations into a leading team and ultimately landing as top executives with CB Richard Ellis Inc. They work as team and they have left as a team, starting just two days ago at their Dallas-based competitor's office. "They bring impressive track records into our industry-leading team," says Greg Trout, executive vice president of the office and industrial division for Henry S. Miller.
Shilling's 30-year record carries accolades for such finessing as closing $100 million in transactions, totaling more than 1.5 million sf, in a four-year span. Cullers' 25-year career has resulted in sales well above $350 million.
Prior to joining the CB Richard Ellis team in 1989, Shillig was a partner with Lincoln Property Co. He was responsible for selecting, developing and leasing 1.3 million sf of high-rise office space in the Minneapolis and Pittsburgh CBDs. Cullers joined the CB Richard Ellis team in 1978. Prior to that, he was a major in the US Marine Corps.
Kartalis says the firm is "always out there looking for new people." This catch, he says, is particularly sweet because they are so well known and they looked at others before deciding. "Both are respected for their extraordinary level of success in the commercial real estate market," he says. With the hires, the Dallas-based firm now has six senior VPs in the office/industrial investments division.
